Evra is a weekly contraceptive patch that releases two hormones (norelgestromin and ethinylestradiol) through the skin to help prevent pregnancy. The thin, discreet patch is worn for one week at a time, offering convenient birth control without the need to remember a daily pill.
Benefits:
• Weekly contraceptive patch, only one patch to change each week
• Highly effective when used correctly
• Discreet and water-resistant (stays in place during showering, swimming, and exercise)
• Delivers hormones through the skin, bypassing first-pass liver metabolism
• Easier to remember than a daily pill, which may help improve adherence
• Reversible contraceptive method with fertility returning after stopping use
Health Concerns:
Hormonal contraceptive patch for women of reproductive age to help prevent pregnancy. It also helps regulate menstrual cycles, reduces period pain, and makes bleeding lighter and more manageable. Does not protect against sexually transmitted infections (STIs).
How to Use:
Apply 1 patch once a week for 3 consecutive weeks (week 1, 2, and 3), then have a patch-free week 4 — during which withdrawal bleeding (period) usually occurs. Apply to clean, dry, hairless skin on the buttock, abdomen, upper outer arm, or upper back. Avoid the breasts and irritated skin. Change the patch on the same day each week. Do not cut the patch. This medicine is prescription-only — use under medical supervision.
